KBB Birmingham: New Trends in Stone Worktops

Last week, I had the chance to visit the KBB show at the NEC Birmingham. It’s always a great event for catching up with suppliers, seeing what’s new in the industry, and getting a feel for the design trends that are starting to emerge.

One of the highlights was visiting the Sempre / AKG stand. They are one of our most trusted and popular suppliers here at First Stone Worktops, so it was great to see them showcasing their latest materials and innovations.

From what I saw across the show, we are definitely seeing a shift in colour trends. Warmer tones are coming through strongly, with creams, bronzes and golds appearing more and more in stone surfaces. These softer palettes bring real warmth to kitchens and living spaces, and we are already starting to see customers leaning towards them.

Another interesting design trend is the move towards reeding and fluting in cabinetry. It is an elegant detail that adds texture and depth to a kitchen design, and it is something we can replicate beautifully in stone for those looking to create a more bespoke finish.

It was also great to catch up with Martin Dolby, who is introducing Vadara Quartz. The range looks really interesting and we are hoping to meet again soon and bring some samples into our showroom so customers can see the materials up close.

Events like this are always a good way to stay ahead of the trends and make sure we are bringing the best materials and ideas back to our customers.

Next up for us is The Stone Show & Hard Surfaces this May at ExCeL London. If you are planning to attend too, let us know. It would be great to connect.
